Technology

  • CEE-Sure™ Preservation Tubes  CEE-Sure tubes contain a proprietary preservative that ensures the CSF samples are stabilized at room temperature as well as maintains the integrity of the tumor cells for analysis once at the CNSide lab. These are supplied by our lab as part of a kit provided at no charge. You can learn more about the CEE-Sure technology here. 
  • CSF Volume   We request a minimum of 2ml of CSF. If the tumor cell count in a patient is very low, collecting a reduced volume of CSF may increase the likelihood of a false negative (e.g, if the true count is 1 tumor cell per ml and we only receive 0.5ml of CSF, we might not detect it).
  • Sample Stability   CSF samples immediately transferred after sample acquisition into a CEE-Sure CSF Collection Tube remain stable for up to 96 hours
