Process & Reporting
- What's in the Report The CNSide TCE Assay report includes a qualitative detected/not detected determination as well as a quantitative measurement of CSF-TCs identified in the CSF sample, which includes the total count of CSF-TCs, CSF-TCs/mL, and a breakdown of Cytokeratin positive (CK+) and Cytokeratin negative (CK-) CSF-TCs. Additionally, the report collates all samples obtained from a single patient and provides a trendline of CSF-TCs/mL vs. time. The report also has a cell image and chart documenting serial results. The report does not make a definitive diagnosis for leptomeningeal metastases. An example of the test report can be viewed here.
- Test Kit Storage The CNSide test kits are to be kept at ambient temperature. You may keep the CNSide test kits on hand at no cost; currently, we would like to limit the number of kits on hand to 5 to ensure our laboratory operations are aware of the potential number of incoming samples each day. Kits are stable for 12 months.
- Staff Training The CNSide customer support team will schedule a short onboarding presentation with each institution to ensure that the proper staff involved understand the logistics associated with everything from ordering kits to accessing patient reports and our provider portal. Each onboarding presentation will also be recorded and available to be shared in the event that a team member is unable to join.
- Total Turnaround Time Turnaround time for tumor cell enumeration results is currently 3-5 business operating days
